No ar, the under seat sub-woofer has amp inside. For me, it has enough BASS. I don't like too loud. I like netual and clear sound! By the way, mine woofer is cheap but the quality is ok!

Yes, you need to take out the whole unit. It should have a "Sub Woofer" output signal in MONO. if not, take the signal from rear speakers will be ok!

Personally, I would get the signal from the rear speaker is better! If you need to get the siganal from speaker, you need to take from both side. The wire should come with the sub woofer.

Well, I think first of all I need to change my hifi unit, it is currently china made cheap cheap one...haha
