I used microsoft exchange to sync all google apps under ios3, such as calender, gmail and contact. But the exchange server doesn't seems to work under ios4, so i used the built in program for gmail and calender, no problems there.

And then i used the itune to get all my google contact and sync with iphone. problem solved. (ps, the microsoft exchange server now works again too).
