As long as the check clears, Nicolas Cage has no problem doing a cheesy ad like this one for the BAIC Senova D Series.
Once admired for his role in "Gone in Sixty Seconds" (2000), Nicolas Cage has resorted to doing a low-budget/quality commercial for Chinese automaker BAIC. The car advertised here is the Senova D Series which is based on the SAAB 9-5 platform. As the clip shows, apparently the car can go in reverse just as fast as it goes forward. In addition, by simply pulling the gear selector the vehicle can automatically ride on two wheels.
The car itself doesn't look half bad and on paper sounds moderatly good being based on the 9-5 platform. It's available with 2.0- and 2.3-liter gasoline engines also borrowed from the Swedish brand. However, assembly quality is a concern whenever talking about a Chinese automaker.
